This was a new initiative which our Vice-President, Brian Eastwood, targeted at helping less experienced members understand how to critique images and select the best for our club to enter in external competitions.
James Gibson had selected a number of images from our back catalogue and Brian asked us to arrange ourselves in groups at five tables. Each table had a specially chosen ‘Experienced photographer’ to facilitate discussion and draw out the views of the others.
After the designated time for discussion of an image, the experienced photographers rotated to another table to take part in the discussion the next image and so the evening carried on.
Each table designated someone to give feedback in turn and the wide range of critique involving everyone certainly helped to meet the objective of the evening. Thanks Brian for setting us the challenge.
