EGM & Workshop - In-Club Competition 06/10/21

EGM

The meeting commenced with the important matter of an extraordinary general meeting, in which a members' vote was held to decide on the future location when the club returns to having in-person meetings. This followed the opportunity for members to visit the new venue on a previous night in the club's programme.

A large proportion of the membership voted and the motion to move to a new venue was carried by a significant majority with a few abstentions and very few objections. As and when meetings begin the club will move from the old location of Kirkheaton Conservation Club to Kirkheaton Parish Church's Parish Centre. Comments on the new venue from members were largely positive reflecting the better disabled access, greater and more practical space and improved lighting.

Workshop

The rest of the meeting was given over to preparation for the upcoming In-Club Competition (ICC). This will pit teams of members against one another across a number of subjects, taken from the upcoming season 2021/22 season of the Interclub Competition that HPIC competes in every year (with some success). Members were assigned to breakout rooms based on their teams and worked with their captains and fellow team members to select the 5 images they will be putting forward on October 27th when judging and scoring will take place. Stay tuned for details on the eventual winners.
