Practical Evening - Image processing challenge 24/07/24

A fantastic evening on Wednesday night saw members presented with a processing challenge. Four teams were presented with the same three images and asked to process them through collaboration and use of various pieces of software. The results were all different, demonstrating so clearly how each individual interpretation of an image and how to process it from what is created in camera, can radically change how you feel / connect with an image.

The evening presented a great opportunity for all members to learn from each other the workflows they use when processing images as well as locating some new processing functionality within the various software programmes such as the calibration tool.

A great evening of learning, teamwork and creativity.

Oscars night 26/06/24

For those who don’t know this is when those members who have had work ‘held back’ for commendation in our Annual Competition find out who has won each trophy and which certificates have been awarded.

HPIC success at the YPU Assembly and Exhibition

HPIC has had a number of category award winners in recent years but 2024 has surpassed them all. The six images shown here were each winners in a print of Projected digital image category.

Sheelagh Davidson’s work won pride of place as Best Author and winner of the Halifax Trophy for her three winners and two certificates amongst her 7 accepted entries. Shown here are:

Their high scoring entries helped HPIC to win the Keighley Challenge Trophy for the Best Overall Club for the second time in three years and the J E Barker Trophy for the Best Print Club.

Club members can be rightly proud of a most impressive showing. Well done to all who entered the YPU Annual Competition to find the best work in Yorkshire.
