Club Awards

Each year HPIC offers members the opportunity to compete for and win a number of trophies. The highlight of this is undoubtedly our Annual Exhibition, which has multiple categories for both printed and digitally projected work.

 

External judges reivew and score all competitive work and award trophies to the winner of each category. These are typically presented at a gala opening of the exhibition, reserved for club members, family, friends and esteemed guests. Historically, the club has been extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to exhibit work for an extended period in a dedicated gallery space within Huddersfield Art Gallery. Over the course of the exhibition, votes are collected from visiting members of the public for two further awards - the Peoples' Choice Award for prints and for digital projection, which we present at the club's annual dinner.

 

In addition to the annual exhibition, we run a series of monthly challenges (formerly monthly critiques) over the course of a calendar year. Again, these cover both printed and projected work. Members vote for their favourite three images in each individual challenge and the member with the highest aggregate score over the year is awarded a trophy.
